Second Life Security and Investigation Group

E-mail

(SLBytes) -- Our Metaverse can be a dangerous place - harmful not to our physicality, but harmful to our humility and morality. The best way to combat pitfalls into a destructive virtual lifestyle is to stay headstrong and be accountable. That being said, Second Life is only as compounding to our real lives as we allow it to be. But is our virtual physical-being in any real danger? There is a group in SL that believes so and that is why they are offering their services to make us feel more protected. Vance Devin has founded a security and investigations group to help you cope with online griefers and stalkers. Read more about this staffing agency here.

SL Residents Cashing Out

E-mail

(SLBytes) -- Second Life economics is on the up-and-up despite a very downer of a year in the real life market. According to an article from nextgov.com, Second Life residents have processed $55 million USD of their virtual earnings into the real world. Bravo, business owners!

Interview with Gestures Runner

E-mail

(SLBytes) -- MetaVogue.com sat down with Gestures Runner to ask some burning questions regarding the consumer-based website. Questions such asĀ "What benefits do the residents of Second Life see when using SLBytes?", "How did you come up with the concept for SLBytes?", and "What is most rewarding about what you do at SLBytes?" were asked and answered. We are excited to see that our work has not gone unnoticed.

So, in celebration of our recent interview featured on MetaVogue.com, we are extending our L$250/submission offer until the end of May 2010! For information about submitting content, please read this article here.

Black Horse & Paradise Country Clubs *NOT REAL TRAFFIC NUMBERS*

E-mail

Nothing like False Advertisment. Both Black Horse Club and Paradise Country Club state that they are Real Traffic Numbers, which is not true at all. I have been to both those clubs and there are people standing all around the dance floor and club, not talking, not dancing, not anything. It looked like a big camping area. They even try to cover their butts with a big sign stating "No standing or Camping on the Dance Floor". Some of those that were "camping" were dancing but only two people out of the whole place were talking. Not one person said hi to anyone new coming in or even talked when I tried to talk to anyone, open chat or in IM.

The Essential 5: Customer Service

E-mail

(SLBytes) -- Meeting the needs of your consumers is not always easy since it requires a great deal of patience and professionalism. If those standards are met though, it will surely increase the chance that your customer will return. Below is a short-list of things to remember when interacting with customers.

1. Be Positive

By all means, avoid any sort of negative comments directed toward your customer. Everything you say will either help or hurt your business - remember that. Staying positive is a must! It can be difficult if your customer is obnoxious and/or rude, but that does not open the door for you to start a verbal boxing match. Not every customer is always going to be right, but neither is every vendor. If a customer brings up an issue, do not start pointing fingers. Start damage control and handle it delicately.
